“I didn’t know what I wanted or needed from somebody else. I think identifying those things was a game-changer for me,” the previously unlucky-in-love Scarlett said on the Goop podcast in April 2023.

She added that her relationship with Colin has been successful because they “move around the world in the same way.”

Scarlett Johansson married Colin Jost in October, 2020 in an intimate ceremony in New York.

The 43-year-old is an American comedian, writer, and actor, is best known for his work on Saturday Night Live.

Colin has been a writer on the skit show since 2005 and a co-anchor of the “Weekend Update” segment since 2014.

He had opened up about their rumoured romance for the first time while walking the Emmys red carpet in 2007.

“She’s pretty cool … it’s hard to have a lot of complaints, she’s pretty awesome,” he told Entertainment Tonight at the 2017 Emmy Awards. “I’m very happy. I feel very lucky.”

In April 2018, the couple debuted their romance on the red carpet for Scarlett’s film Avengers: Infinity War.

After two years together, Scarlett’s publicist Marcel Pariseau confirmed that the pair were engaged, telling the Associated Press that they hadn’t yet set a date to tie the knot.

In October 2020, they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony surrounded by friends and family.

While the pair did not share any glimpses into their ceremony on social media, Meals on Wheels America confirmed the Hollywood couple had tied the knot, writing to Instagram,

How did Scarlett and Colin meet?

The couple first crossed paths in 2006 while backstage at Saturday Night Live when Scarlett was hosting and Colin was a part of the show’s writing room.

“The first time she hosted was the first year I was a writer on the show,” Scarlett later revealed to People . “So, we’ve kind of known each other since then … she’s the best.”

Despite hitting it off as friends, the couple were not romantically linked until May 2017, when Page Six reported they were spotted kissing at a Saturday Night Live afterparty.

Not long after their engagement was announced, Scarlett returned to Saturday Night Live to make her sixth appearance as host.

“It’s great to have you all back,” she said during a monologue.

“I just want to say that this place means so much to me. I have so many friends here and I met the love of my life here. Merry Christmas.”

In November 2024, Scarlett shared a rare comment on the couple’s marriage, describing her husband as “a very, very, very great guy” in an interview with Live with Kelly and Mark.

“I’m extremely lucky. He’s a kind person and he’s hilarious and thoughtful and loving and he’s a great dad and I love him.”

The actress also shared that the pair had also planned a unique Thanksgiving celebration, adding, “This year, we’re actually going to go to a restaurant. We’ve not really done that before. Every year I feel like it’s me and my father-in-law and we’re both doing dishes for half of the thing.”
