Chris Carmack Bets on Survival After 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 21 Cliffhanger: Fingers Crossed!

Image
Chris Carmack , who plays Dr. Atticus "Link" Lincoln on Grey's Anatomy , is hopeful his character makes it out alive after the Season 21 finale aired on May 15. The explosive episode left viewers with more questions than answers, particularly about Link and if he made it out of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital alive after it went up in flames. "Well, I can tell you how I feel about the ending because I thought it was really exciting. I thought it was a fun episode, and I've been on the show for seven seasons now, and I've never been able to be part of those nail biting cliffhangers where you don't know what's going to happen. We've had them happen — just not to my character. Mine is always like, 'Is he going to propose?' or, 'Is she going to say yes?' Mine has always been kind of romantic, but finally, it's like, 'Does he live or die?' I haven't talked to the writers yet, so fingers crossed, but I ...

**Channel 4’s Cruise Docs: Once Wild, Now Bland?**

Image
It’s been a bad week for cruise ships . First there was the young girl who fell overboard in the Bahamas, swiftly pursued by her heroic dad. Then Cannes followed Venice, Nice, Barcelona and Amsterdam in becoming the latest city to ban or restrict giant cruise ships . Finally, Netflix’s new documentary Trainwreck: Poop Cruise told of how in 2013 a fire caused a ship to be cast adrift without power in the Gulf of Mexico. With the toilets no longer flushing, the 4,200 people aboard spent four days defecating into plastic bags. But if that’s the nightmare version of cruising , then Channel 4’s new series Supercruising: Life at Sea is all about selling the dream. This extended advert for a Dutch-American company follows two of their ships: one that is sailing 3,000 passengers from Dover to North Africa, and another that is ferrying a similar number around the Caribbean. The series is very much in the vein of all those other Channel 4 programmes about five-sta...

Image
Netflix subscribers have been left heartbroken over the cancellation of The Residence. The streaming service has made a habit of prematurely cancelling acclaimed shows over the years, with the most controversial cases including The OA , Mindhunter and Kaos , all of which were canned despite securing a cult fanbase . It has now been announced that murder mystery series The Residence , starring Orange is the New Black ’s Uzo Aduba , will not be returning for a second season. The Residence followed eccentric detective Cordelia Cupp (Aduba), who is invited to the White House to solve a murder that was committed during a state dinner. Reviews for the series were positive upon its release in March, with fans and critics expressing hope that Cordelia Cupp would return to solve more mysteries in future seasons in a similar vein to Benoit Blanc, Daniel Craig’s super detective in the Knives Out film series . While the show...

Adeel Akhtar: "My US Struggles & Why British Culture Stands Out"

Image
Adeel Akhtar is an excellent advertisement for the character-building quality of uphill struggle. His parents were less than thrilled by his determination to follow a path as unpredictable as acting, and for several fruitless years it seemed like they had a point. He began to ask why he was getting so little work: was it because there were scant opportunities for British Asian actors, or was it his own shortcomings? “The struggle was so fraught,” he says now. He was 30 by the time he finally got noticed as one of the hapless terrorists in Chris Morris’s 2010 satire Four Lions , but since then he’s figured in so many the UK’s must-see shows, from Utopia and Killing Eve to The Night Manager and Black Doves , that he’s like a kitemark of quality. He’s won Baftas for 2016’s Murdered by My Father and 2022’s Sherwood , plus an Emmy for the Netflix fantasy drama Sweet Tooth . Now he’s in rehearsals at the National Theatre for Shaan...

Survivor's Jonathan LaPaglia Slams Replacement Host as 'Idiot' in Brutal Take

Image
Australian Survivor fans were left devastated this week when it was announced that Jonathan LaPaglia would no longer be hosting the reality show . The 55-year-old TV personality and actor, best known as ‘JLP’, shared a lengthy post on social media confirming speculation that he had been axed from the Channel 10 series after 11 seasons. While the network is yet to announce his replacement for 2026, rumours are swirling that three-time player and 2020 winner David Genat will be stepping into his shoes. Fans have noticed that JLP may have indirectly confirmed these rumours in his recent post, taking a subtle yet brutal swipe at the Deal Or No Deal Island champion. After thanking Survivor ’s “immensely talented crew”, “crafty players” and “loyal sassy audience”, JLP added at the end of his post: “PS. Whoever said a blindside is the most humane way to put someone down is an idiot. It hurts like a b***h!” RELATED: Channel 10 fires A...

Hit Drama Series Creator Exits Ahead of Third Season

Image
The future of The Last of Us is set to be very different after creator Neil Druckmann announced he will be stepping away from the series. Based on the video game series of the same name, The Last of Us stars Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie in a post-apocalyptic world. The acclaimed series, which returned for a second season earlier this year , follows groups of survivors 20 years after fungal virus infects large swathes of humanity. While the show has a mixed reception among its biggest fans right now , critics still love the HBO series and the series is cited as an example of how to adapt video games into TV shows. This transition from game to screen was helped by Druckmann, 46, who wrote and directed both The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II before creating the TV show. But whatever a third season looks like for the series, Druckmann won’t be involved after announcing his intention to step away from the hit zombie horror (via The Ank...
